The Foundation For Canadian Studies In The United Kingdom

Objective to advance the education of the UK public in matters relating to Canada working mainly through Universities (HEIs).

Founded 1974

  • Mission statement

The Foundation wishes to develop studies of Canada within UK Universities by grant support mainly for research and publication etc within particular subjects and through departments and units of Canadian Studies. The Foundation would like to support all kinds of initiatives which will develop thinking on issues that affect Canada as well as on Canadian Studies itself. Canada has played a key role in many international community matters. We encourage the diversification of Canadian Studies through inter disciplinary links and academic partnerships and also wider outreach to involve more institutions in Canadian Studies. The Foundation and the Canadian High Commission maintain a sophisticated and mutually supportive relationship in the interests of projecting the value of teaching, researching and publishing about Canada in UK Universities and in encouraging Canada-UK university partnerships to their mutual advantage.
